What We Believe
Calvary Chapel of Hammonton is a fellowship of believers, dedicated to bringing Honor and Glory to God through all that we do. It is our supreme desire to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Since we serve a God of relationship we desire to build our relationship with Him as well as with others, focusing on Matthew 22:37-40.
Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His Agape' love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We believe that worship of God affects every area of our lives. It is, therefore, the Biblical privilege of the believer to financially support the Lord's ministry. To make it personal (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) and secretive (Matthew 6:1-4) no general offering will be taken. All tithes, gifts and offerings may be placed in the Agape' Boxes located throughout the building.
We believe worship of God should be Inspirational; we give great place to music in our worship.
We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He would be worshiped.
We believe worship of God is fruitful. We look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation of His work in our lives.
We believe the Body of Christ is made up of many parts working together as one, according to 1 Corinthians 12, there is a place for all to serve to complete the body.
If you would like information on how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, or have other questions please feel free to contact Pastor Vince at the church office (609) 704-8778.
Our History
The Beginning: Calvary Chapel of Hammonton held its first Sunday morning service on August 2nd, 1998. As a branch of Calvary Chapel of Vineland, where Pastor Vince had served as Assistant Pastor, there was a great deal of support and encouragement from our parent church.
The Move to Hammonton: Pastor Vince and his wife Dianne have long had a desire to minister to their hometown of Hammonton. Moving back to the area in October of 1997 was one more confirmation that the time had come. On January 2, 2004, Calvary Chapel of Hammonton was blessed with their own church building. The first service was held at the new site on February 1, 2004.
